Entering
Students will arrive to school and place personal belongings in their assigned lockers. When entering our classroom students will pick up breakfast if they choose, take their seat and eat. If students do not want breakfast, they will begin their daily board work displayed on the smart board. After morning announcements, we will have a brief community circle meeting and students will begin their work cycle. I will display on the smart board an schedule for each student, each student will also have a concrete work plan they can mark off as they complete their work. The work cycle will continue for 3 hours until lunch time.
Lunch, Specials, and Recess
At 11am, students will head to the cafeteria to have lunch. Students are welcome to have school lunch or bring a lunch from home. Students will have 20 minutes to eat lunch and 5 minutes to clean up.
At 11:25 am, students will line up and head to specials.
Students will be in specials from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.
At 12:00pm, students will line up and head outside for recess (weather permitting). If weather does not allow for recess, we will have indoor recess, which includes movement, games, and free choice.
Afternoon
When returning from recess at 12:30 pm, we will have quiet reading time and federal reading time. At 1:15 pm students will begin an afternoon work cycle, this work cycle is to finish anything they could not in the morning work cycle. This is a time I can work with students if they have questions. At 2:00 pm students will begin their jobs as part of the classroom community. The students will have 20 minutes to complete their jobs. At 2:20 pm I will dismiss them to their lockers to gather their belongings. We will have an afternoon community circle to discuss their day. At 2:30 pm, we will exit the classroom to pick up line in front of the school.
